Take a walk through history for Bryan’s 150th Anniversary

As the City of Bryan gets closer to the official 150th anniversary of incorporation, we continue to add more information to the celebration’s website. Now, an interactive, media-rich timeline of the first half of Bryan’s history is available.

Go to https://150.bryantx.gov/timeline/ to check it out.

The timeline includes a narrative history of the City of Bryan and allows you to explore important points in time, view photos and artifacts from those time periods, watch videos, listen to interviews and oral histories and more.

This first half of the timeline tells Bryan’s story from a time before there was a “Bryan” up to 1930. The second half of the timeline, from 1931 to today, will launch in September.

Keep an eye out for news on two exciting 150th Anniversary activities that are coming soon:

  • The 150 Collection, a museum-style exhibition featuring more than 30 historical items donated or lent to the City of Bryan for the 150th anniversary. This collection will be displayed at Clara B. Mounce Public Library and the Carnegie History Center.
