Ken Smith shares the history of an antique linen souvenir bookmark program for the Grand Opera House in Bryan

This is a souvenir program bookmark for a performance at the Grand Opera House in Bryan, Texas, Thursday, September 24th, 1891. This bookmark is linen, so it's not just your standard paper. It was provided compliments of the Brazas Pilot, which says it has offices on Main Street over First National Bank. The performance that people were going to see that evening was A Breezy Time. This is just a really cool slice-of-life piece to show that companies were advertising, and this is how they advertised to large groups, little souvenir things just like they do today.
